A bevy of leaked documents from Disney shows that the company has initiated a new program called “Reimagin Tomorrow” with the goal being “diversity and inclusion”.
This is all very typical of what you’d expect to see from the anti-racist or Critical Race Theory (CRT) crowd. From the start, employees are told things like, “(America has a) long history of systemic racism and transphobia” and tells employees they must “take ownership of educating yourself about structural anti-Black racism” and “not rely on your Black colleagues to educate you,” which is “emotionally taxing.”
White employees are told to “work through feelings of guilt, shame, and defensiveness to understand what is beneath them and what needs to be healed.” They must “listen with empathy [to] Black colleagues” and “not question or debate Black colleagues’ lived experience.”
The company then goes on to say that employees they should reject “equality,” or “equal treatment,” and instead strive for “equity,” or “the equality of outcome.” They must “reflect” on America’s “racist infrastructure” and (this is my favorite part) “think carefully about whether or not [their] wealth” is derived from racism.
21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge is a program that was sponsored by Disney and promoted to it’s employees.
For those participating in the challenge, the first thing they’re to do is to take a “white privilege” test. (I scored a 55!)
The next step is for participants to turn away from “white dominant culture” to something different. What is white dominant culture? Well, it’s things like, “competition,” “individualism,” “timeliness,” and “comprehensiveness”. These are values that “perpetuate white supremacy culture.”
A recommend read for the employees is a how-to-guide called “75 Things White People Can Do For Racial Justice”. This includes defunding the police, reparations, and decolonizing one’s bookshelf.
In a complete circle of reasoning, Disney has set up what they call, “affinity groups” which are racially segregated. The “Latino” group is called “Hola”, the Asian group is “Compass” and lastly, for blacks “Wakanda”.
(UPDATE) Disney has since nuked all traces of it’s programs saying that they were “deliberately distorted”.
