Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson issued a blunt challenge to federal officials releasing Pentagon UFO files: stop holding back evidence and just show Americans the alien life forms the government allegedly possesses.
Scientist Says Public Ready For Proof
Tyson delivered his direct request Monday during an appearance on Fox News as the War Department rolled out its third batch of declassified UFO documents. The 67-year-old scientist argued Americans have been so thoroughly prepared by decades of alien-themed entertainment that concrete proof of extraterrestrial life would not trigger mass panic as some government officials have suggested. He said the real shock would come from discovering aliens with humanoid features, given the vast biological diversity found on Earth where most life forms look nothing like humans.
The latest Pentagon release includes 53 documents and 10 images from the CIA, FBI, NASA and military agencies, plus six videos and three audio recordings. While the materials provide no definitive proof of alien contact, they reveal decades of government tracking and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena that officials cannot explain through conventional means.
Whistleblower Claims Billion-Dollar Cover-Up
Former Air Force intelligence officer David Grusch testified before a House Task Force earlier this month, accusing American intelligence agencies of hiding billions in spending related to unidentified aerial phenomena. Grusch described his belief that alien life exists on a spectrum from physical bipedal creatures to sentient plasma-based entities. His testimony came after President Trump ordered federal agencies in February to begin declassifying information about UFOs, extraterrestrial life and unexplained aerial sightings, citing tremendous public interest in these matters.
The newly released Pentagon files document unusual sightings that federal agents personally witnessed. One incident describes a luminous orange orb producing smaller red orbs repeatedly over several hours. FBI agents reported seeing pulsing white and blue lights appearing at tree lines near an informant’s home before vanishing. Another video labeled Northeastern Orb Sighting captured phenomena in a region where such events occur frequently according to investigators.
What This Means
Trump administration officials have not explained what might cause the unexplained aerial phenomena documented in the released files. The President has publicly expressed skepticism about alien life but authorized the declassification following similar comments from former President Barack Obama in February. The Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office compiled the historical records showing government interest in these phenomena spanning multiple decades, though definitive answers about their origin remain classified or unknown.
