Trump MOCKS Meloni With Restraining Order Post

President Donald Trump posted a photo on Sunday suggesting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stalks him, captioning the image with the words “RESTRAINING ORDER NEEDED” as his diplomatic feud with the European ally escalates over military cooperation during the Iran conflict.

Social Media Attack on Former Ally

The post showed Meloni gazing at Trump and came among a series of other images the President shared on social media. Trump also posted photos of himself arm wrestling Hulk Hogan, giving speeches at Mount Rushmore, and a 1990s picture with Marla Maples and Macaulay Culkin. One controversial image depicted former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama boarding Air Force One with spray painted alterations showing political slogans and foreign text on the aircraft.

The targeting of Meloni marks a sharp reversal from Trump’s previous warm relationship with the Italian leader. He previously praised her during a speech last year, calling her a “beautiful young woman” and acknowledging the comment could be politically risky. Their relationship was considered among the strongest Trump maintained with European heads of state before tensions erupted over military cooperation.

Military Base Dispute Sparks Conflict

Trump criticized Meloni and other European countries last month for insufficient support during the Iran war. He revealed he refused to take a photo with Meloni at the G7 Summit in France because Italy would not permit American forces to use Italian landing strips and runways, creating what Trump called a “great logistical inconvenience.” The President suggested Meloni now seeks reconciliation to boost her domestic approval ratings, adding “No thanks” to her overtures.

Meloni fired back, calling Trump’s criticism “unprovoked” and “senseless.” She defended her decision by stating American military base usage follows existing agreements that cannot be violated during her tenure. The Italian Prime Minister emphasized that her popularity depends on defending Italy’s national interest, not friendship with Trump.

What This Means

The public feud demonstrates deteriorating relations between the United States and traditional European allies over war support. Meloni asserted Italy’s sovereignty and dismissed Trump’s concerns about her domestic approval ratings, telling him to focus on his own popularity instead. Trump has expanded his criticism beyond Italy, attacking NATO broadly for inadequate assistance during the Iran conflict. The breakdown in this relationship signals potential challenges ahead for American cooperation with European partners on military operations and diplomatic initiatives.
